Weekly Tasks
On day one, we met with Caron Harvey, our course lead and she gave us a course overview, what to expect from her and the team, and what they expect from us. I felt overwhelmed with all this information and as someone who has a hard time taking notes I have forgotten most of what was said during this class. luckily for me, Caron has shared her blog with us she updates every week with our new tasks so we can drop by whenever we need something. I am incredibly grateful for this as I don't tend to work traditional hours if I have forgotten what was asked of us.
Task 1
Our first task was to watch a TED talk on Learning styles.
Task 2
We were also tasked with creating a blog page, Which you can see here. I originally tried to use google sites but didn't like how basic it was. I then moved to Squarespace but it stopped letting me customize the website after 1 month because I wouldn't pay for it. The third option was Wix, which is still really customisable but you can customise your website and share the link with people without paying a penny to win.

Experience
During my HND I was approached to design the Academy in the new Dunfermline Learning Campus. In this project, I researched, designed, developed, and 3D modeled a floor plan that was given to me, and then I had to present it to my contact at Fife College which was pretty scary as this was my second attempt at a live project and the first one didn’t end well for various reasons. I worked hard on producing a 3D model that showcased my skills in design as well as modeling a full tree-like sculpture and custom-made furniture for the space which I was incredibly proud of at the time (now a year has passed and I don’t love it so much but still proud of the work I put in) I used this project to fill the Personal project unit for my course, but I also wanted to experience the process of turning an idea into a fully-fledged design in the real world. I don’t think this design will ever be realized though as my liaison never got back to me after I presented my finished project to him.

Reflection
Initially, I was quite upset and frustrated that I had gone through the whole process of researching, designing, and 3D modeling a project only to be essentially left on read. However doing this project made me realize that I didn’t have to just be an interior designer, I could be a 3D modeler, a space planner, or an events planner as I covered all of these skills. A big mistake I made was thinking that my project would be prioritized over this man's full-time job being a lecturer and not following up with him to see what the status of the project was. I did send a quick email to him later when I got a job at Fife College to let him know that if he needed anything from me he should email on my new email address but again my email went unanswered.

Action
Moving forward I will continue to develop my skills in 3D modelling, space planning, and interior design in general. Keep building my professional network. Engage with Colleagues, mentors, and industry professionals who can provide guidance and potential opportunities for my diverse skill set. I am also going to recognize the importance of clear communication and managing expectations with project managers and continue to reflect on my experiences and how they shape my professional identity.
